Our team of veterinary medical oncologists diagnose and manage the treatment of cancer patients by providing evaluation and consultation, treatment planning, and a wide variety of medical and radiation therapies.

Our doctors have been trained in cancer biology, chemotherapy, immunology, and radiation oncology. a combination of the following are used to individualize each patient's care:

Chemotherapy – uses drugs to damage cancer cells and inhibit their growth. In many cases, a combination of anticancer drugs is the most effective treatment. The overall percentage of dogs and cats experiencing side effects is low in comparison to people who have received chemotherapy.
Radiation Therapy – uses beams of high energy waves to destroy cancer cells. It is designed to minimize damage to normal cells and inhibit the cancer cells from multiplying. Our state-of-the-art linear accelerator is the same type of radiation therapy equipment that is used to treat humans.
Surgery – removes as much of the cancerous tumor as possible. It may be performed either before or after chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
Immunotherapy – utilizes the patient's own immune system as a means of attacking the cancer.

We recognize the importance of continuing education and the advancement of science through oncology-related studies. Our oncologists are part of the Animal Cancer Institute, a co-operative oncology group, and are active members of the Veterinary Cancer Society, where the most recent information regarding diagnostics and therapies are shared.
